Just released this month (November 2016) David W. Orr’s new book, Dangerous Years: Climate Change, the Long Emergency, and the Way Forward, provides the best contemporary guidance to the situation humankind is in and what is needed for a viable future. Written before the end of the 2016 US presidential election, his analysis covers the kind of result that occurred.
Orr’s new book is a fitting sequel to his 2009 Down to the Wire: Confronting Climate Collapse. It is, however, different in tone and style. It is more somber and serious. It is a deeper, more informed, and reflective book. The amount of material from scientists and other authors covered is amazing.
Orr retains his idea that our present problems are political. Another way of saying this is that our present problems result from how we make decisions together and take action together. His book is a major contribution to what might be called “political ecology.” You will hear more about this in our publications.
This is a tour de force. GO OUT AND BUY DAVID W. ORR’S NEW BOOK THE DANGEROUS YEARS!
